Orlando’s One Stop Shop for Entertainment – Mango’s

If you’re looking to be entertained, look no further than Mango’s Tropical Café.

The popular Miami spot has opened a location on International Drive. Come for the good food, tasty drinks, and stay for the performances — and later, dance the night away. Mango’s Senior Operations Manager Jose Vasquez was nice enough to give me a grand tour of the establishment. walking into Mango’s Orlando is sensory overload. The huge space, 55,000 feet to be exact (and growing!), has bright colors, bright lights, and loud music. You can’t leave here in a bad mood.

The Spanish and South American-inspired beats make you want to move. If you like art, you will definitely want to take your time walking around Mango’s Orlando and admire the hanging art. Take a close look at all of the bars because they are all handmade. The Mermaid bar on the first floor is decorated with bamboo shoots cut into pieces under the lacquer. The VIP bar, where you can see the performances up close and personal, is mosaic art. You’ll notice the furniture and some of the hanging art have animal print – that’s to add an element of being in the wild.

I was lucky enough to sample some of the popular food items on their menu, such as the Honey Barbeque Wings, Wedge Salad, and the King Prime Rib. The prime rib is 16 oz. and is seasoned for 24 hours! It was quite delicious.

You have a few options for food – you can order off of a Prix Fixe menu, or you can order a la carte. Of course, majority of the menu does consists of drinks. There are dozens of Mojitos, Daiquiris and frozen drinks to choose from, as well as Margaritas and Martinis. I sampled the Miami Vice (Rum runner & Pina Colada combination), Mango Mojito, Acai Caipirinha (popular Brazilian drink), and the Mango Mamba.

My favorites were the Mango Mojito and the Mango Mamba, which is a good balance of mango and banana. If you are up for the challenge, you can order any drink in the Jumbo glass! This huge martini glass is a party all in its own – it comes with a blinking light. The drink is the equivalent of 2 ½ servings, and you can order any drink off the menu in this specialty glass.

Of course, the highlight of Mango’s Orlando is the nighttime celebration performances. Be entertained while you drink and dine. The live performances happen twice a night – at 6pm and 9 pm. The show includes a Celia Cruz tribute, a Conga line, Hip Hop Dancers, Salsa and Merengue, and a Michael Jackson tribute. It’s fun for all ages!

I had such a great time at Mango’s Orlando and this is a great spot for a birthday celebration, taking out-of-town guests for a night on the town, or a Girl’s Night Out.

Mango’s Orlando is open every day from 6pm to 2am (except for Sunday, it opens at 5pm). It is family-friendly for dinner, but on Friday and Saturday nights at 10pm there is a $10 cover charge and is 21+ only.
